Capital Pump & Equipment (CPE) was founded in 2013. CPE is the number 1 full-service pump company in the Phoenix Metro area offering sales, service and rental of multiple pump brands. We are growing and looking to expand our team by adding an Accountant.

The accountant will function as a key member of the accounting team which currently consists of AP, AR and Payroll. The position will report directly to the Controller. The candidate will help with maintaining strong accounting controls, while providing support to the CPE team also back up AP, AR and Payroll. The primary duties consist of maintaining the general ledger, researching account variances, analyzing financial records, preparing journal entries, developing / working with spreadsheets and reports, performing monthly closing functions (sales tax returns and fixed assets), ensuring the financial integrity of CPE's operations, reviewing inventory, reviewing AP batches, and working with AR to ensure timely collection on accounts. This is a hands-on role requiring the successful candidate to work at both a detailed task level and a higher support level.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Overall, 3-5 years of experience in Accounting & Finance with experience in most if not all of the following:

  • Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts
  • Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes
  • Contributing to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections
  • Maintaining documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury and conducting internal audits
  • Performing monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Experience with bank reconciliation
  • Meeting processing and reporting deadlines
  • Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits
  • Experience in account analyzing accounting records and entities for accuracy and conformance to GAAP
  • Experience in monthly closing and preparing financial statements.
  • Prior work with SAGE accounting software a plus.

  Additional Experience

  • Construction and service industry knowledge preferred.
  • Payroll processing experience a plus. (Certified Payroll is a plus)
  • Ability to work as a team and help where needed.
  • Assisting the Controller & CFO as needed

This is a Full-time, on-site , salary exempt position Monday to Friday, with minimal OT required. CPE offers a competitive salary with excellent benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, 401(k) with match, PTO and paid holidays.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year based on experience
