Within CO+I, the strategic Supply Chain team is responsible for establishing a supply chain that can meet the ever-growing Microsoft Cloud for our customers. We support a portfolio of complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-billion, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects and operations of those assets. We are looking to fill a critical role of Global Category Manager.

Responsibilities
Category Vision and Strategy : Creates, communicates, and maintains global category visions and strategies based on business intelligence, Microsoft policies, and Microsoft-wide cross-functional buy-in from stakeholders.
Strategic Sourcing Alignment : Maintains strategic alignment with sourcing execution teams to continuously re-evaluate and improve Microsoft procurement.
Negotiation Strategy : Develops negotiation strategies, organize procurement bid results, and then communicates complete strategy and results to senior management.
Supplier Selection : Oversees supplier selection and performance management. Ensures alignment to Microsoft business goals and policies.
Contracting : Understands industry contracting norms and Microsoft contracting requirements. Successfully facilitates negotiation of final contracts that achieve business goals.
Supplier Engagement : Proactively segments suppliers and utilizes engagement programs to improve performance and achieve business goals.
Continuous Improvement : always be seeking ways to streamline, automate, and simplify processes. This will include deployment of tools, proficiency in data analytics, and ability to work with IT groups to provide system requirements.
Collaborate: Able to partner with Internal Engineering, Construction, Cost Management, Finance, Safety, Legal, Risk and other groups as needed, as well as external suppliers, industry groups, consultants.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 4+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles
OR Master's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 3+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles
OR equivalent experience.
4+ years’of construction OR supply chain OR procurement experience specifically with large complex Capital Projects.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years of construction OR supply chain OR procurement experience specifically with large complex Capital Projects
Construction Experience on large-scale projects - sourcing, managing and administering contracts large dollar contracts of over $400+ Million.
Commercial understanding and experience driving developing contractual on key categories (General Contractors, Mechanical & Electrical Equipment, Construction Services, Operations Services).
Knowledge of data center industry and experience managing a variety of project delivery methods - ability to lead a project team in defining risk and developing the appropriate contracting and compensation approach.
A drive to achieve results in midst of ambiguity and matrixed org.
Technical ability to write contracts, ability to set up sourcing plans and negotiation strategies and execute them.
Effective communicator that can interact with diverse groups across organizational levels.
Familiarity with common process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six-Sigma, etc.) and ability to facilitate change management.
Ability to implement new processes and get buy in from a cross functional team.
High-integrity, ethical and value-based individual focused on fairness and maintaining confidentiality.
Have a “sense of urgency” to issue resolution. Be able to Create clarity, generate energy, and deliver success.
Always be planning for the future and understand the importance of relationships inside the company and with our supply chain partners.
Experience in one or more key categories including Mechanical & Electrical Equipment.
Sourcing Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
