Product Manager The Product Manager is a multifaceted role encompassing product lifecycle management, growth initiatives, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration. They play a key role in driving the development and delivery of new products in alignment with the long-term roadmap. This role develops and implements category strategies to achieve both financial metrics and strategic objectives. They leverage their comprehensive knowledge of the product, along with compelling selling stories, pricing strategies, and other resources, to drive successful product commercialization and sales.
So, What’s the Gig? - Responsible for the creation of 3-year product line roadmaps and owned product lines and programs.
- Implement strategic product lifecycle management initiatives, identifying opportunities to drive sales growth for existing products and strategically refresh or rationalize underperforming products.
- Analyze internal selling data, consumer trends and competitive landscapes to inform actions and provide support for portfolio and roadmap recommendations.
- Utilize consumer research plans to identify product opportunities and effectively leverage the findings to gain stakeholder support.
- Develop strong business cases that align program objectives and product requirements with the product line strategy, with a focus on maximizing value for target end-users.
- Lead cross-functional teams to ensure the timely execution of new product introductions that meet both financial and strategic objectives.
- Maintaining clear and regular communication with stakeholders regarding project status, milestones, risks, and issues.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure that customers understand how critical product features serve as our competitive advantage.
- Forecast unit sales of new products.
- Drive execution of prioritized Product Management and NPD process improvements.
- Conducting regular reviews, inspections, and testing to meet project requirements and maintain high standard.
- Collaborate with Sales to achieve category sales targets.
- Oversees the execution of project tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring adherence to project plans.
- Manages project resources, budgets, and timelines.
- May lead an Associate Product Manager depending on business needs and individual capabilities.
What We’re Looking For: - Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with a preference for engineering or business.
- 2 years’ experience in project management roles, demonstrating the ability to plan, execute, and deliver projects successfully.
- 5 years of total experience in product development or marketing related roles, with a preference for consumer durable goods.
- 2 years of experience directly collaborating with industrial design teams to define new product concepts.
- Experience in working with project management frameworks and processes, including project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Experience in risk management, change management, and problem-solving in the project context.
- Experience translating market driven needs into technical product development requirements.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to project management.
- Experience in managing cross functional teams and coordinating project activities.
- Proficient with product management tools.
- Experienced in presenting data and research to inform best decisions and both short- and long-term strategies.
