Overview

The Manager, Compensation (the "Manager") is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of YNHHS' enterprise compensation function under the leadership of the Executive Director, Compensation & Retirement. The Manager will oversee significant elements of YNHHS' pay transformation activities, and will focus on integrating operational best practices into efforts undertaken by the compensation function. As a subject matter expert on matters pertaining to compensation strategy, pay program design and administration, pay equity, organizational design, and position development, the Manager will also serve as a thought partner to leaders across the organization. The Manager will leverage clinical high reliability principles to enhance the quality and efficacy of compensation program design and administration, fostering a creative and collaborative team culture in order to drive performance improvement.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required. Master's degree strongly preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of seven years' progressive experience in the human resources field required, with at least five years' experience in the design and administration of compensation programs. Prior experience leading the compensation function for a complex integrated delivery system strongly preferred.

LICENSURE

Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred; ability to obtain CCP certification within two (2) years required.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Demonstrated capacity to integrate operational best practices into the work of the compensation function. In-depth understanding of health system operations. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead the work of others. Demonstrated ability to mentor and effectively develop staff to ensure the department functions at an optimal level. Analytical and quantitative skills in developing compensation design proposals and associated budget projections. Excellent oral and written communication, planning, organizational and project management skills. Ability to make sound decisions or recommendations based on research or review of complex information. Ability to translate complex analyses into actionable recommendations. Foundational knowledge in physician compensation, contracting, and relationship management.
