Job description

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Responsible for underwriting new fully insured small group, association health plans and mid-size employer groups (51-99).  Also responsible for underwriting and processing for our existing book of business for small group, association health plans and large groups (51-99).  Renewal activities include providing renewal reports reflecting rates, plan options, loss ratio reports and renewal analysis.

Responsible for developing underwriting policies and process improvements to ensure all guidelines are adhered to. Duties include managing the proposal process which consists of producing accurate proposals for new and renewing business.  Prepare experience rating spreadsheets for renewing groups and prospective groups providing adequate claims experience. Prepares appropriate reports as delegated by the Director of Underwriting.   Develop alternative renewal offerings to maintain targeted premium rates and targeted group retention. Log prospects and renewal quoting details.  Keep detailed notes of information and actions on all renewals and prospects.  Assists and provides recommendations on final rating actions .
