As a Category Leader – Direct Global Supply, you will be working closely with the Global Strategic Supply Manager and your peers, an experienced team of strategic sourcing professionals. The Category Leader will be responsible to maintain the strategic sourcing direction for their categories, refine and execute sourcing strategies in line with enterprise goals, and support and enhance processes to procure raw materials and components. The Category Leader will also participate in key initiatives such as annual cost down projects, in-flight cost savings projects, and supply risk mitigation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and drive global category strategies with internal requirements, strategic objectives, and current and future market conditions considered.
- Leverage proven negotiation skills to achieve favorable results for the organization.
- Draft, negotiate, and deliver complex long-term agreements with strategic suppliers.
- Comprehend new information quickly and act with high numeric and deductive reasoning.
- Actively contribute to the global supply total cost savings funnel.
- Anticipate and mitigate global supply-related risks and exercise appropriate judgement when determining the need for internal escalation.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key organizational stakeholders across multiple global regions.
- Effectively communicate upward in the organization for reporting on key performance indicators and for escalation purposes.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum 4 years of related work experience
- Experience with economic factors such as commodities and currencies
- Microsoft Office experience – including strong Microsoft Excel experience
- SAP or related ERP experience is a plus
- Familiarity with SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) is a plus
- Demonstrated success initiating change and ability to influence at all levels
- Confidence in role as an individual contributor and ability to lead through others
