The Structured Cabling Technician is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, support, and overall health of the enterprise facilities' information system communication backbone as well as delegation of tasks to Jr. Structured Cabling Technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence and teamwork) and promote teamwork at all times.
- Lead the implementation and support enterprise telecommunications distribution systems.
- Responsible for the execution of project plans with other project teams for new location builds and renovation projects.
- Own the management of materials and external labor as outlined in SOWs.
- Assign specific site surveys to Jr. Structured Cabling Technician as needed.
- Responsible for the documentation of cable plant drawings, computer room layouts, and rack elevation diagrams.
- Lead and collaborate with other site services engineers on best practices for the installation, testing and documentation of cable infrastructure, floor drawings, networking hardware, wireless access points and general telecommunications.
- Partner with other information technologists, business engineers and architects to collaborate on complex business projects and problems developing comprehensive budget conscious solutions.
- Execute site services support as defined in documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for facility
- Work with network infrastructure to implement network projects and changes.
- Ensure all systems are properly maintained and secured both physically and digitally following industry best practices and in compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Acquire skills with relevant industry certifications and training.
- Responsible for site related IT capacity planning, system installations, upgrades, and other maintenance activities.
- Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis of issues impacting company sites.
- Follow IT department standards, guidelines, and policies for the use and integration of technology, and apply defined technology solutions that are aligned with business requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What You Bring to Pacific Seafood:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent industry experience.
- 5-7 years of IT experience
- CAD or Visio and strong computer skills necessary to accomplish electrical design goals.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
Preferred
- Strong knowledge of Information Technology Information Library - ITIL Process/Service Management
- Knowledge of IT Infrastructure and Security design best practices or willingness to learn
- Microsoft Office products including Visio
- IT Service Management tools
- Experience with harsh work environments a plus
Pay:
$91562 - $115,368
