Job description
We are seeking a skilled Concrete Superintendent to join the team at Ascend Concrete in Lancaster, PA. Specializing in commercial concrete projects, we require an individual capable of leading a team effectively, setting a positive example, and managing all aspects of commercial construction projects proficiently. If you possess proven expertise and knowledge in the construction and concrete industry, this position is tailored for you. Our offer includes a competitive base salary, comprehensive health insurance, 401K benefits, and a sign-on bonus of up to $3,000 based on your experience. Following the initial 30-day period, a company car will be provided for your use.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise, mentor, and coordinate with crew members
- Instruct and guide newly hired staff, creating an atmosphere of effectiveness and upholding high standards of excellence
- Draft plans, assign tasks, and plan timelines for concrete projects, making sure the efficient use of resources
- Comprehend construction plans, drawings, and guidelines
- Maintain frequent weekly communication with operations supervisors and project management to properly arrange manning and resources
- Regularly inspect the job site to make sure that all specifications and quality ratios are met
- Spot and resolve any issues or conflicts that might happen during the project, taking rapid corrective actions
- Measure the job area using Total Station
- Capable of operating finishing machines (walk-behind, ride-on trowel machine, pan, and finish)
Qualifications:
- Proven record of accomplishment as a Concrete Foreman or Superintendent for a minimum of five years in the field (preferred)
- Capability to assign tasks to crew members and make sensible and quick decisions
- Extensive familiarity with concrete construction processes, such as footings, walls, flatwork, and tilt-up
- Thorough understanding of safety regulations and capacity to follow them precisely
- Physical fitness to work in a variety of weather conditions
- Keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing first-rate results
- Possess excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Hold an OSHA 10 Certification (or willing to obtain)
- Possession of a valid driver's license
