Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Gene Editing and Business Strategy Manager with a strong focus on the seed industry innovation. The successful candidate will lead strategic business initiatives related to gene editing projects, specifically aimed at improving seed traits and contributing to the development of next-generation seed varieties and hybrids with added value.
It's important for the GE Business Partner to balance scientific innovation, business strategy with financial considerations to drive sustainable growth and success for the company in a competitive seeds industry environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Give orientation on Targets and lead negotiations with 3rd parties related with future royalties and/or upfront payments related with the GE business.
- Develop and build business plans for each project to help decision making process for GE projects aligned with overall business objective
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GE initiatives into broader R&D plans
- Market analysis for seed traits: product commercialization, partnership and collaboration impact
- Ensure that GE projects yield a positive return on investment by aligning strategies with market demands and successfully navigating regulatory processes.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Expertise in commercial relationship, partnership, and business & license agreements negotiations with 3rd parties (large, medium and startups companies as well as Universities and/or scientific public institutions).
- Deep understanding of seed industry dynamics and market trends
- Entrepreneurship mind-set
- Influence / innovation / strong project management and communication skills
Education and Experience:
- BS in Business Administration, Agronomy, Economics, or Industrial Engineering
- Fluent in Spanish preferred
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
