Position Responsibilities
The Staff Consultant is a member of a select consulting team committed to a program at Deltek for our Costpoint product. Within this entry-level program, you will focus on training in Costpoint implementation projects. As a Staff Consultant, Deltek will provide you with extensive training on Deltek products, consulting best practices, and the implementation process, as well as mentorship and shadowing of senior team members. As part of the consulting team, successful candidates will have a variety of career paths to explore as their careers progress.
This is a revenue generating position with individual performance results tied to utilization and other internal and external performance metrics.
- Assist Deltek clients with implementation services to successfully transition from legacy accounting systems and configure and setup Costpoint
- Under specific direction - configures, tests, documents, and implements Deltek Costpoint, applying DGC project and consulting methods and processes
- Understand industry accounting principles and their application to the Deltek Costpoint product line
- Assess and make recommendations for business process design to client
- Work within budget and time frame requirements for completion of each project.
- Display excellent communication skills (presentation, persuasion, and negotiation) required in working with clients and co-workers including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
- Potential for travel 50% to 80% of the time
Qualifications
- Due to the nature of work being performed in this role, US Citizenship is required
- This position will be located at Deltek Headquarters in Herndon, VA due to proximity to senior consultants and government consulting clients
- Bachelor's degree in a business or information technology related program from a four-year College or University with coursework in Accounting
- 1+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (internships acceptable as experience)
- Beginning to intermediate understanding of accounting principles or project cost accounting
- Knowledge of ERP software is not required but beneficial
- Consulting experience is not required but beneficial
- US Citizenship is Required
