Job Title: Development Coordinator Organization: Norwalk/Stamford Grassroots Tennis & Education Location: 11 Ingalls Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06854 Position Type: Full-Time (In-Person) Monday to Friday, 10 AM - 6 PM, with occasional nights and weekends for special events
Salary Range: $62,000 - $72,000 with Comprehensive Benefits Package.
About Norwalk/Stamford Grassroots Tennis & Education: Norwalk/Stamford Grassroots Tennis & Education is a youth development nonprofit committed to fostering character strength and providing the foundation for success through tennis and education. Our mission is to expand awareness and support for our work, and we are actively seeking an experienced, proactive Development Coordinator to join our team and lead our fundraising and marketing endeavors.
Job Description:
Position Overview: The Development Coordinator will play a pivotal role in providing overall leadership, shaping strategic direction, and managing Grassroots Tennis & Education's fundraising and marketing initiatives. This is a full-time, in-person position based in Norwalk, CT. The Development Coordinator will be responsible for creating a comprehensive fundraising program, cultivating relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring the organization's financial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership, Strategy, and Accountability:
- Collaborate closely with the Executive Director to craft a comprehensive fund development program.
- Exhibit leadership qualities, encourage initiative, and oversee the team's accountability for fundraising, engagement, marketing, and communication activities.
- Regularly prepare and present reports for the Executive Director and the Board of Directors.
- Safeguard confidential records and files.
- Manage the marketing and fundraising budget as assigned by the Executive Director.
- Lead the Fundraising Committee and collaborate with the Board on crucial fundraising initiatives.
- Spearhead efforts to raise $850,000 annually, with plans to scale to $1 million within the next 3 years.
Development:
- Nurture donor relations with a focus on securing new donors annually.
- Oversee all aspects of grants management, including proposal drafting and timely submission, reports, updates, and communications.
- Maintain an internal tracking system for the grants calendar.
- Ensure efficient processing of gifts and promptly acknowledge donations.
- Collaborate with staff to develop materials and monitor program outcomes for grant proposals.
External Relations:
- Direct marketing and communication initiatives to align with the organization's strategic objectives and enhance visibility.
- Regularly update the website to reflect the latest information on events, fundraisers, and organizational data.
- Attain and retain in-depth knowledge of the organization and its programs to create compelling communications and social media content.
- Supervise and execute external fundraising events and campaigns.
- Act as an engaging external representative of Grassroots, fostering relationships with stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4+ years of progressive leadership experience in a non-profit organization.
- Proven track record in fundraising, development operations, and communications/marketing.
- Passion for Grassroots' mission and unwavering commitment to core values.
- Exceptional written communication, research, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and outstanding organizational abilities.
- Ability to cultivate robust relationships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
