Title: Lead Backend Java Developer
Location: Reston, VA
Onsite Requirement: Yes (5 days a week)
Office Address: 10780 Parkridge Blvd #70, Reston, VA 20191
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of Java-based applications.
- Analyze user requirements to guide and inform application design.
- Define application objectives and functionality in alignment with business goals.
- Oversee the development and testing of software solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
- Produce detailed design documentation and system plans.
- Recommend and implement improvements to the existing Java infrastructure.
- Guide the development of multimedia applications and user assistance documentation.
- Foster an environment of continuous professional development among team members.
Mandatory Skills:
- Java/J2EE
- Microservices/Spring Boot
- Any Cloud
- Kafka
- NoSQL DBA
Experience Level:
- 12 to 15 years of hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and NoSQL databases.
- At least 4 years of experience with cloud services, preferably Azure.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and cloud-based solutions.
- Proven background in Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Gitflow workflow.
- Familiarity with Atlassian suite (BitBucket, JIRA, Confluence).
- Proficiency in Continuous Integration tools (Bamboo, Jenkins).
