Job description
The Purchasing / Inventory Control Coordinator assists in all aspects of purchasing for our Service Department and is responsible for the control, tracking, distribution, and overall disposition of those items within the Service Department environment.
The coordinator will work with the service department office staff and field techs to identify items for procurement. The coordinator confirms all aspects of pricing, writes, and submits purchase orders to the most appropriate supplier, confirms all deliveries and maintains an inventory control database.
Responsibilities & Duties:
The Purchasing/ Inventory Control Coordinator's primary duties include but are not limited to:
- Work with company department managers and Service Techs to determine purchasing needs and requirements.
- Identify the most appropriate supplier for the designated item, determine availability, perform comparative pricing.
- Establish delivery requirements/timelines.
- Perform all purchasing functions, such as issuing purchase orders (POs), invoice creation, pricing verification, payment authorization, complete entries into accounting system.
- Input and maintain online database of all products; maintains daily inventory update.
- Identify and resolve all issues related to product quality, pricing, delivery, utilization, loss!
- Update company on any new products that may be more efficient or cost effective, obsolete products, product trends.
- Conduct records audit of inventory, adjustments and other metrics and prepare monthly/ quarterly/ annual reports of findings to management.
- Keep packaging metrics updated.
Skills:
- Experience in electrical purchasing and inventory control.
- Experience and proficient in database management, analyzing and reporting data regarding inventory issues, results, trends, solutions.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and ability to exercise independent judgment.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing data, problem identification and resolution.
- Excellent communication skills, both in oral and written medium
Qualifications:
- Graduation from accredited high school.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- A background in commercial electrical counter sales or purchasing is a big plus.
