  We are currently looking for a Home Care Provider in the Rochester/Greater Rochester Area.

RRI is looking for a home care provider (contractor position) to support a middle-aged man diagnosed with ID/DD.

This individual is looking for a provider who enjoys being active and can help him increase his independence within his community. He has a job so support, including transportation and some support with his employer, is necessary. He loves being helpful (even with household chores!), having a good laugh, and is very proud to be employed.

This person has been successful living with peers and could also do well being the only individual supported by a provider. He has lived with animals and very much enjoys this, though he is less likely to enjoy living with children. He can become frustrated at times, and it is clear that humor works best during these times.
As a Home Care Provider, you would be expected to assist the person you support with activities of daily living, such as personal hygiene routines (he can do this independently but needs cueing), assisting/providing meals, and assisting with medication administration. You would also ensure that medical appointments are met, transportation is provided, and basic daily/weekly/monthly Medicaid required documentation is completed in a timely manner. It would be important that you can work well with the support team. Training and ongoing support will be provided!

Please note that this is an independent contractor role,  not an employee.

Requirements:

• Providers must be at least 18 years old
• At least 3 years experience as a licensed driver with an acceptable driving history
• An acceptable criminal history and other background checks are required.
• Experience working with adults with ID/DD or traumatic brain injuries is preferred.
