Job description
The Staff Accountant for Bank Reconciliations will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the bank accounts and financial records of Advanced Dental Implant Center (ADIC). This position will be responsible for performing regular bank reconciliations, identifying discrepancies, and resolving issues promptly. The Staff Accountant will collaborate with various departments, including finance, treasury, and operations, to maintain a streamlined and error-free reconciliation process.
- End of Day Review: Daily reconciliation to be performed on End of Day Packet that consists of Day Sheet, Adjustment Report, Cash/Check deposit slips, Credit Card deposit batch from Clover/other devices.
- Bank Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations for clinic bank accounts. Ensure that all transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and transfers, are accurately recorded, and matched with corresponding records in the general ledger (GL)/Practice Management Systems (PMS).
- Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified during the bank reconciliation process. Collaborate with internal departments and banking institutions to clarify and correct any discrepancies promptly.
- Journal Entries: Prepare necessary journal entries promptly to adjust the general ledger for outstanding items identified during the bank reconciliation process. Ensure all adjustments are recorded accurately and in compliance with accounting standards.
- Internal Controls: Support the implementation and maintenance of strong internal controls related to bank reconciliations. Identify opportunities for process improvements and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive and well-organized documentation for all bank reconciliation activities. Ensure that all supporting documents and evidence are appropriately filed for audit purposes.
- Compliance: Stay up to date with accounting regulations and standards related to bank reconciliations. Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting principles and regulations.
- Support the external audit process by furnishing pertinent information and supporting documentation to auditors.
- Respond to accounting inquiries by conducting thorough research and interpreting relevant data.
- Safeguard the organization's value by ensuring strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Contribute to the accomplishment of the accounting and organizational goals by accurately and efficiently completing related tasks as required based on deadlines.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (business, accounting, or finance concentration).
- At least 2-3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on bank reconciliations preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and bank reconciliation process.

- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, while collaborating with various stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance related to banking and financial transactions is a plus.
