Job description
Summary: Assigns work, monitors and s upervises mechanics, repairs and/or work orders, and assists mechanics in performing various tasks related to fleet maintenance and vehicular repairs.
Work Hours: This position will be expected to work a schedule established by the Department Head. Typical hours will be 2:30 p m-10:30 pm Monday - Friday. It is also expected this position will work other hours including nights, weekends and/or holidays as necessary or requested in order to fulfill the City's vision and/or to accomplish departmental goals. Mandatory overtime may be required during certain occasions including, but not limited to times of snow/ice removal.

Essential Duties: Include, but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Makes daily repair/work assignments in accordance with departmental policies.
Assists in diagnosing and repairing of vehicular mechanical, electrical and/or emission systems.
Monitors vehicle repair progress and documents work orders to ensure quality control.
Monitors and oversees mechanics in the repair process and assists when necessary.
Assists in performing repairs as may be necessary, required and/or requested.
Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED. Five (5) years of demonstrated hands on experience performing similar duties preferred, with previous supervisory experience desired.
License(s)/Certification(s) : Must possess or obtain at least three (3) ASE certifications within six (6) months of hire date. Must possess or acquire a State of West Virginia Motor Vehicle Inspections License within six (6) months of hire date. Must possess a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or obtain within six (6) months of hire date.
