Job description
The ideal candidate will play an instrumental role in managing and improving IT standards within the Infrastructure team. This vital position will ensure operations are efficiently run and projects are delivered on time. We work in the Petroleum industry so a background in Regulatory and Compliance standards in this sector will be essential.
Responsibilities: - Supervise and mentor a team of IT professionals, ensuring their growth, performance, and alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Manage vendor relationships, including vendor selection and performance evaluation, managing SLA's and cost effectiveness.
- Oversee the installation/Configuration and Maintenance of hardware, software and network components.
- Possess an understanding of the limitations and capabilities of Microsoft O365 and Azure platforms to optimize their usage in the petroleum industry.
- Adapt and lead IT projects to align with sudden or unexpected changes in corporate strategic direction, ensuring efficient implementations.
- Design, implement, and maintain robust IT systems and networks specific to the Petroleum industry.
- Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for their integration to enhance operational efficiency along with virtualization solutions.
- Develop and implement security protocols and measures to safeguard sensitive Data and Infrastructure.
- Willingness to travel to and work on drilling rigs if required to provide IT support and operations.
Qualifications:
- Administrative knowledge of petroleum industry specific IT systems, including drilling technologies, reservoir management software, and data analytics tools such as Petra, Kingdom, ArcGIS.
- Experience with Synology NAS (Network-Abached Storage), Linux administration, Azure, Cloud Services and Office 365.
- 10+ years of experience in IT roles within the petroleum or related industry, demonstrating strong responsibility and leadership.
- Familiarity with tools such as NinjaRMM for remote monitoring and management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high pressure environment.
Preferred Skill Sets:
- Experience with SCADA / DCS / PLC systems and IoT (Internet of Things) in the petroleum industry .
- Strong background in data security protocols and best practices.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CCNA, CAPM.
