Position Summary/Description:

The Comprehensive Cancer Support Program ( CCSP ) within the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center ( LCCC ) is seeking a part-time Exercise Specialist to provide daily training to participants engaged in our Get Real and Heel ( GRH ) in-person program at Rex Cancer Center in Raleigh. GRH is a supervised outpatient exercise program for patients with cancer and survivors offered by the CCSP .

The Exercise Specialist will serve as the primary trainer leading workouts. Duties include providing daily workouts for participants, program administrative support including communication with potential patients, communication with clinician teams, collaborating with physical and occupational therapy clinics, performing patient assessments, and patient data management through the program. Other programmatic duties include weekly availability for trainings and meetings. It is desirable for the Exercise Specialist to have an interest in program development and growth. This person will serve as part of the CCSP inter-disciplinary team and will report directly to the Program Director of Physical Activity and Integrative Oncology. This person will commit to up to 25 hours/week with our program, with the expectation of working in the office Monday-Thursday and the ability to work remotely on Fridays. This is a one-year, permanent part time, time-limited position.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in the therapeutic specialty area to which assigned. Some positions may require additional training, certifications, or licensure in speech pathology, audiology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, or other fields.
