General Statement of Duties:

Information Technology Services (ITS) seeks a highly motivated team player with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships for an educational technologist position. This hybrid role provides technical support and coaching to faculty in the area of academic technologies that promote student success and enhance teaching and learning. The educational technologist supports the Canvas learning management system and integrations, trains end users, as well as, provides systems administration support of related classroom technologies and systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provides and promotes excellent customer services through courteous, informed, inclusive, accessible, and professional engagement
  2. Provides technical assistance to both faculty and students related to the LMS as needed
  3. Create and manage LMS courses, user accounts, and user enrollments and disseminate LMS-related information as appropriate and needed
  4. Recommend and help faculty create or choose and test supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games, etc.)
  5. Plan and deliver faculty training workshops on LMS and classroom technologies as needed
  6. Collect and analyze data, prepare reports, develop and participate in assessments
  7. Collaborate with other offices like the Center for Teaching Innovation, Library, Academic Affairs, and Video Services, in the areas of educational technologies to make recommendations and provide solutions
  8. Research, write, and produce clear documentation and other materials (websites, multimedia, and online tutorials), conduct training workshops to support faculty learning
  9. Maintains personal knowledge and professional expertise consistent with academic/educational technology trends in higher education
  10. Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with the collective bargaining agreements

This is a hybrid position with occasional on-site, in-person responsibilities in Salem, MA and may include occasional evenings and weekends.
