Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Job Description:
- Minimize machine downtime, increase efficiency and reduce cost through planned maintenance and prompt response to unplanned maintenance requests on the production equipment used to produce fiber optic cables.
- 12 hour night shift from 7pm to 7am.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform root cause analysis of breakdowns and implement corrective actions
- Prepare written maintenance instructions, records, and procedures
- Maintain accurate and timely records in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Maximo • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electro-mechanical equipment
- Perform detailed routine maintenance tasks
- Perform tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor/Coordinator
Skills/Characteristics Desired
- Self-motivated, strong and systematic analytical and troubleshooting skills
- In depth understanding of electrical and mechanical principles
- Thorough working knowledge of electrical, mechanical systems
- Experience with LOTO and electrical safety
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
- Experience in the use of hand tools, precision measuring equipment, and machine shop equipment
- Good communication skills • Accuracy, attention to details, and strong organizational skills
- Ability to react positively to rapidly changing priorities
- Capable of independently managing multiple tasks with minimal supervision
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse groups of people
- Experience with Maximo CMMS system for maintenance
- Experience with the OSI PI (historian) interface
- Effective in managing multiple priorities
- Demonstrated initiative and an eagerness to drive continuous improvement
Education
- Education Two-year associate from an accredited college or a technical degree from a community college
- Or At least four-years of experience in maintenance at an industrial manufacturing environment with high school diploma or GED
- Or Military background with maintenance and technical experience & 5+ years in an industrial manufacturing environment

The range for this position is $32.00 hourly rate - $35.63 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
