Medical Assistant: Starting Pay Range: $17.85 - $25.20 an hour

Pueblo Community Health Center offers a flexible benefits program to full-time and part-time employees working 20 hours or more per week.

Job Summary:
• A team member of nursing services who participates in the delivery of health care to the patients of Pueblo Community Health Center.
Reports to:
• Clinical Nursing Manager
Supervision Exercised:
• None
Education/Experience/License/Certification:
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program required.
• Current certification or registration through NHA, AMT, AAMA or other recognized credentialing organization is preferred.
• Equivalent combination of appropriate education, certification, and experience will be considered.
• Current B.L.S. with skills demonstration C.P.R. certification for Healthcare Providers required.
• One year medical assisting desired.

o Knowledge of Electronic Health Record or other data management systems preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
o Ensure the function and activities of this department to embrace the philosophy, mission, values, and Communicate with Heart service model supported by the Board of Directors of Pueblo Community Health Center, Inc.
o Adhere to the guidelines and procedures of Pueblo Community Health Center, Inc.
o Follow scheduling procedures for providers.
o Follow clinical workflows and documentation for MAs and providers within electronic patient charts.
o Assist a Medical Provider in providing direct patient care as needed, including treatments, procedures, and emergencies.
o Access, use and update clinical data from various outside agencies.
o Follow clinical lab procedures including Point of Care Testing.
o Maintain compliance with vaccine storage, handling and administration policy and procedure.
o Maintain compliance with all Nursing and Infection Control Policies and Procedures at all clinical sites.
o Utilize case Management programs (EIS, Breast Health, Colorectal Cancer screening, Pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric immunizations) and standing orders associated with them.
o Maintain stock and supplies in exam rooms per policy and procedure.
o Manage daily workflows to ensure timely completion of daily tasks.
o Adhere to Nursing policies and procedures
o Provide nursing/medical assistant health care services appropriate to the age-specific needs of all patients in accordance with the principles of growth and development for infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric life cycles.
o Ensure all clinical information is entered into and maintained within patient record
o May perform phlebotomy at satellite clinics.
o Adhere to the Infection Control Policies and Procedures.
o Assist in the training of student externs and/or new Medical Assistant staff.
o Maintain current licensure and CPR certification.
o Perform other related duties as assigned.
o Perform duties specific to assignment at a satellite clinic per policy and procedure.
o Follow safety and security practices implemented at PCHC.
o Maintain patient confidentiality.
o Assist with accurate and timely completion of time and attendance activities.
o Follow organization and departmental call off procedure.
