Job description

Position open in Gainesville

Responsibilities:

Provides financial management services for LifeQuest Organ Recovery Services including responsibility for the general ledgers, accounts payable and receivable, audits, budgets, organ billing, purchasing, and lease contracts. Oversees the day-to-day general accounting operations and monitors budgets and financial activities for eight organ cost centers, one administrative cost center (including Gainesville) and four satellite offices in Jacksonville, Tallahassee and Pensacola, Florida. Prepares quarterly financial reports, including revenue, expenses and statistical organ data for the OPO executive director, medical director and VP of operations. Prepares annual financial reports to the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), reimbursement accounting and cost accounting. Occasionally participates in LifeQuest quality assurance meetings.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business with a minimum of three years’ experience with accounting or two years’ experience with accounting in an organ procurement organization (OPO).  Must have working knowledge of financial software, fiscal analysis and web-based computer applications. Must demonstrate working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet development, and preferably, PeopleSoft accounting software. This position requires a person with initiative and the ability to take on responsibilities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Must be organized, versatile and able to work independently and have a complete understanding of routine accounting functions and generally accepted accounting principles.
