Project Engineer (Civil and Structural)

Salary: $60K - $90K (Negotiable and based on experience)
Our client is an Engineering and Inspection firm that specializes in residential and commercial projects.
Job Summary: As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in planning, designing, and executing various civil and structural engineering projects. Collaborating closely with a team of professionals, you'll contribute to projects from conception to delivery. This role requires a degreed engineer with expertise in civil or structural engineering and proficiency in AutoCAD and structural design software.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project managers and design teams to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Conduct site visits and surveys to gather essential project data and assess site conditions.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings and specifications using AutoCAD and other design software.
- Perform structural analysis and design calculations to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Assist in the preparation of engineering reports, feasibility studies, and construction documents.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies for project approvals and permits.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or issues, and propose effective solutions for timely completion.
- Provide technical support during construction phases, including responding to RFIs and conducting site inspections.
- Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and regulations to enhance technical knowledge and project performance.
- Foster a collaborative work environment by effectively communicating and coordinating with team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with AutoCAD software for drafting and design.
- Proficiency in structural design software such as RISA 3D, AutoCAD, or similar programs.
- Strong analytical skills for structural analysis and design calculations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work within deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of construction processes and materials preferred.
- Flexibility to travel to project sites and attend meetings as required.
