Project Engineer (Civil and Structural)
Tampa, FL
Salary: $60K - $90K (Negotiable and based on experience)


Our client is an Engineering and Inspection firm that specializes in residential and commercial projects. 

Job Summary:
As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in planning, designing, and executing various civil and structural engineering projects. Collaborating closely with a team of professionals, you'll contribute to projects from conception to delivery. This role requires a degreed engineer with expertise in civil or structural engineering and proficiency in AutoCAD and structural design software.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with project managers and design teams to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  2. Conduct site visits and surveys to gather essential project data and assess site conditions.
  3. Prepare detailed engineering drawings and specifications using AutoCAD and other design software.
  4. Perform structural analysis and design calculations to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  5. Assist in the preparation of engineering reports, feasibility studies, and construction documents.
  6. Coordinate with external stakeholders including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies for project approvals and permits.
  7. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or issues, and propose effective solutions for timely completion.
  8. Provide technical support during construction phases, including responding to RFIs and conducting site inspections.
  9. Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and regulations to enhance technical knowledge and project performance.
  10. Foster a collaborative work environment by effectively communicating and coordinating with team members.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  2. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
  3. Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with AutoCAD software for drafting and design.
  4. Proficiency in structural design software such as RISA 3D, AutoCAD, or similar programs.
  5. Strong analytical skills for structural analysis and design calculations.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  7. Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work within deadlines.
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Knowledge of construction processes and materials preferred.
  10. Flexibility to travel to project sites and attend meetings as required.
