Postdoctoral Associate

The University of Pittsburgh's Department of Radiology, MR Research Center (MRRC) is seeking a postdoctoral associate who is interested in high field 7T MRI. MRRC is planning to transfer current VB17A 7T technologies to new Terra 7T program including parallel transmission (pTx) B1 shimming, high-order B0 shimming, and advanced CSI/EPI/structure sequences, etc. The candidate who has experiences in development of high-order B0 shimming program/algorithm, IDEA pulse sequence & ICE programing, non-Cartesian/parallel imaging reconstruction, and/or neuro-imaging applications. The candidate will assist Dr. Chan Hong Moon for 7T pTx operation, and support ongoing 7T pTx projects - MR spectroscopy imaging (GABA, glutamate, lactate, NAA) and/or fMRI study for critical period plasticity, cognitive dysfunction in HIV, bipolar, and psychosis. MRRC is located at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) and has excellent research/clinical environment with equipment of state-of-the-art Siemens three Prisma 3T(64ch/32ch coil), Magnetom 7T 2.3 pTx (8ch Tx/16ch Rx coil, high order B0 shim insert), and mMR BioGraph PET-MR scanners.

Applicants must possess a PhD in electrical engineering, physics or biomedical engineering with experience in MR physics. The proficiency in MATLAB, C++, Python, or equivalent programming languages is needed, and the knowledge of MR related mathematics - linear algebra, signal processing, Fourier analysis, and/or machine learning is required. She/He will work in a highly multidisciplinary environment consisting of psychiatrists, neuroradiologists, neuroscientists and rehabilitation scientists. Self-motivation, strong communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment are required.
