Position Overview:
As a Professional Land Surveyor working with our team in Newark, NJ, you will play a key role in leading surveying projects, overseeing survey teams, and ensuring the accuracy and compliance of survey data. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in land surveying, a current Professional Land Surveyor license, and the ability to provide expert guidance to support the success of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage land surveying projects, from initiation to completion, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Oversee successful boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking in accordance with project requirements.
- Review and interpret legal documents, including deeds, plats, and easements.
- Provide expert guidance on complex surveying issues and offer solutions to ensure accurate and reliable data collection.
- Supervise and mentor surveying team members, including Survey Party Chiefs, CAD Technicians, and Survey Technicians.
- Oversee the preparation of survey deliverables, including plats, maps, and drawings.
- Collaborate with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project goals and expectations.
- Ensure the quality control of survey data, including the review of field notes, sketches, and calculations.
- Stay informed about industry advancements, regulations, and emerging technologies in land surveying.
- Uphold ethical and professional standards in all surveying activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in surveying, civil engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in NJ and/or NY.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Civil Engineering and Land Surveying Industry.
- Strong understanding of land surveying principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Proficiency in the use of surveying equipment, including total stations and GPS.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Familiarity with relevant state and local regulations and surveying standards.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
