Reporting to the IT Systems lead, the System Administrator is responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of all mission critical systems at Turn 5. This role also serves as an escalation point for more complicated Help Desk tickets, as well as providing mentoring and training to others on the team to enhance their skillsets. The role has shared responsibilities across the IT disciplines and the daily responsibilities may shift to fit the needs of the team.
Year 1 is going to be about:
- Installing, configuring, and managing Virtual Servers, VOIP phone system, and applications (including, but not limited to):
- Office 365 / Exchange Online
- Shoretel / Mitel Phones / Phone System
- Virtual Machine backup, Sentinel One Antivirus, Storage Arrays.
- Mobile Device Management
- Active Directory / Group Policy / Permissions
- Applying OS and Application patches on a regular basis, as recommended or required by PCI or generally-accepted practices.
- Performing regular backups of all systems in an appropriate format and frequency for the type of information.
- Establishing and monitoring service level targets for system uptime & performance and measuring actuals against those targets.
- Virtualization and Containerization using VMWare, Ranger, and Kubernetes.
- Implementing planned & emergency changes to server & network configurations, coordinating with 3 rd -parties and scheduling the work on- or off-hours as appropriate for the severity and impact of the change.
- Acting as an escalation point for complicated Help Desk tickets and an overflow point in order to maintain SLAs.
- Providing training and guidance for team members on the effective utilization of various technologies in use at Turn 5 to allow them to better perform their duties and to provide an avenue for professional development.
- Recommending changes or enhancements in available equipment, technology, or 3 rd -party services as prompted by user-feedback or market research to improve the overall quality & reliability or decrease costs.
- Establishing a Knowledge of IT Systems as they are used at Turn5:
- Horizon Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
- Performing regular backups of the Turn5 environment using Nakivo
- CheckPoint Email Security
- Sentinel One Anti-Virus
- Mitel MiConnect phone system/ PBX along with MiContact Call Center operations and software
- Network utilizing the Cisco Switches, Meraki Wireless, and Fortigate firewalls. Monitoring with SolarWinds
- Patch and Update management with Ninja One.
- QNap Enterprise storage arrays
- Jira Ticketing System
- ZenDesk for customer facing support.
- NetApp Enterprise DataCenter storage.
- MS SQL Server
- ElasticSearch
- Redis
We can’t skip over some of the specific skills and experience we know are a “must” to be successful. So, we need you to have:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent System Administration experience
- Experience:
- 3+ Years – IT End-User Support
- 3+ Years – Server/Network Support
- Call center experience a plus
- Travel: This role requires occasional travel between our headquarters and other Turn5 facilities in the area (10-20 miles). On rare occasions travel is needed to our other US locations, currently Lenexa, KS and Titusville, FL.
- Hours: This role requires occasional evening and weekend work for maintenance and equipment installs. Some of the work may be performed remotely.
