Key Responsibilities a s a Prep Cook at dnata Catering, you will play a vital role in our aviation catering team, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of high-quality meals for airline clients. Your main responsibility will be to assist in the preparation and organization of ingredients, ensuring they are ready for cooking and assembly. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will follow recipes and portion guidelines to measure and prepare ingredients, such as vegetables, meats, and sauces, while maintaining strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards. With a keen eye for detail, you will assist in the proper storage and rotation of ingredients, ensuring freshness and minimizing waste. As a Prep Cook, you will also contribute to the efficient operation of the kitchen by assisting with inventory management, stock rotation, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Collaborating closely with the culinary team, you will support the production of high-quality meals by assisting in cooking, baking, and assembling dishes as required. Your commitment to teamwork, efficiency, and culinary excellence will contribute to dnata Catering's reputation for delivering exceptional aviation catering services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This salary range and is influenced by the level of experience. When calculating the base pay, we take into account various factors such as location, qualifications, training, and experience as part of the overall compensation package.

EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED with 3+ years’ experience in a high-volume food service with at least 1 year experience/exposure to menu research and development

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 30 pounds. Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Use equipment and materials properly.

 

Work environment:

The essential functions of this position are performed indoors. The noise level in the work environment can range from minimal to loud.
