The Work You Will Do:

This position serves as a Local Veterans’ Employment Representative (LVER) responsible for advocating for veterans with local employers, assisting with the development of service delivery strategies for veterans, and educating partner staff, employers, and the community about current employment initiatives and programs for veterans. This position confers with the supervisor to assist in identifying improvement processes and developing solutions for the Job for Veterans State Grant (JVSG) program.

THIS IS A VETERAN-FUNDED POSITION. Appointment to this position must be made in the order of preference  provided by Public Law 100-323. Applicants claiming veteran preference must provide a copy of their DD-214 and when claiming disabled veteran preference must also provide a copy of their statement of disability from the Veteran's Administration. All Veteran team staff perform duties outlined in Title 38 of the United States Code (U.S.C.), 4104(b)(1)(2), as amended by the Public Law 100-323.

The incumbent will assure the local office is compliant with Federal Regulations, standards of performance, and contractual provisions of the grant agreement mandating special services for Veterans. You will assist in helping Broward County Veterans and eligible spouses obtain wages to be sufficient and sustainable through training and employment. The LVER Government Operations Consultant II is a member of the Florida Commerce team with CareerSource Broward.

Qualifications:

As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records.
