Overview:
Security Supervisor
The security supervisors’ role is to investigate various incidents that occur on Golden Nugget property to determine the facts and circumstances of those incidents using a variety of investigative tools and methods. The security supervisor monitors security and other company reports and identifies areas of concern to investigate and to advise the Director of Security. The security supervisor also participates in training Golden Nugget Employees on Security and Safety issues.
Responsibilities:
- Represents the department and company, interacting with guests and employees in a courteous and professional manner.
- Reads, interprets, and analyzes security reports and other company documents daily and identifies whether further investigation is necessary and completes investigations as needed.
- Conducts complete and thorough investigations for a variety of internal and external incidents.
- Monitor incidents resulting in loss and investigates to determine the source of the loss.
- Creates detailed reports to reflect findings of safety and security investigations and reports these findings to the Director of Security.
- Reports suspicious activity and safety concerns to the Director of Security.
- Conducts professional investigative interviews of employees.
- Effectively uses/deploys a variety of company programs, systems, and equipment to complete investigations.
- Observes and monitors for potential violations of safety regulations, company policy or law, and suspicious activities of guests and employees.
- Maintains a working knowledge of the property to effectively conduct duties and assist guests and fellow employees.
- Makes suggestions and recommendations, as appropriate to help reduce loss, maintain a safe and secure environment and for improved policies and procedures.
- Works closely with employees of the Security Department, Surveillance, Risk Management, Human Resources, and other departments during their day.
- Held accountable and to a high degree for the accuracy and thoroughness of investigative reports, records, and evidence.
- Conducts fire extinguisher expiration inspections.
- Conducts safety walks about property to identify safety issues in offices, corridors, etc.
- Conducts equipment safety checks to identify safety issues with company equipment such as frayed cords, missing ground prongs on plugs, etc.
- Conducts safety and security training for all company employees.
- Schedule hearing tests annually for the appropriate staff
- Conducts PPE inspections and enforcement (non-covid related)
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested.

Qualifications:
- Excellent guest service skills
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with management and employees.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Ability to effectively communicate with guests and employees one on one, and within small and large groups.
- Ability to prepare, analyze and interpret documents.
- Ability to prepare organized and thorough reports.
- Ability to prepare and present information in an organized and clear manner.
- Ability to identify and foresee concerns based on reviews of incidents and trends.
- Ability to interview employees in an effective manner.
- Ability to thoroughly investigate a variety of incident types.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, to include use of Lodging Management System (LMS), Report Exec, Oracle, Microsoft Office, iTrak, etc.
- Ability to stay organized and focused on tasks and assignments.
- Ability to remain calm and make reasonable decisions, including during high stress situations.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision.
- Ability to use CCTV for extended periods of time.
- Ability to understand and maintain knowledge of company and department rules, policies and procedures, city and state laws, safety
- regulations, gaming regulations and labor laws.
- Must successfully complete company and gaming background screening process.
- Must successfully complete the following training certifications:
- Golden Nugget Basic & Advanced Security Academy
- Golden Nugget Lost and Found Training
- In-Service review training
- License Requirements
- Must pass company and Nevada Gaming background investigation.
- Current Alcohol Management Certification
- Current Nevada Driver’s License
- Current American Red Cross or Equivalent Adult First Aid/CPR Certification
- OSHA 30 Hour General Industry Course
- Required:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in safety management, occupational safety or equivalent
- One or more years of experience in a Hotel/Casino Safety/Security role
