We are a 4-doctor small animal practice, open Monday through Friday, closed on major holidays, offer a great benefits package, and aim to help our team thrive. Job Description



You must possess an upbeat, friendly, and dedicated personality! You should be able to multi-task and have literacy with computers (basic scanning and attaching files, using Word, emailing, and faxing). You should be able to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted, be comfortable with incoming and outgoing phone calls, understand the value of list making and organization, and make our clients feel like they're number 1. You'll be answering phone calls, making outbound calls, checking patients in and out, escorting clients to their exam rooms, cleaning the exam rooms, making sure the lobby is free of mess, keeping up with texts, emails, and pet records, and using critical thinking and common sense skills to create a schedule for our doctors. This position can be physically demanding, as you will be bending, stooping, standing, twisting, and reaching most of the day. The candidate may also be handling dogs and cats of different sizes and training levels, as well as assisting with some restraint if the need presents itself. Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus!

The schedule for this position is as follows: 

Monday 8:45am-6pm

Tuesday: 7:45am-6pm

Wednesday 7:45am-8pm

Thursday: OFF

Friday: 7:45am-6pm

Qualifications

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS + Ability to sit or stand and work at a computer for long periods of time. + Ability to be confident around animals (i.e., dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc. Candidate to confirm species treated with practice leadership for additional clarity.) + Client needs and work volume may occasionally require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job. This position may require special working hours, including working weekends, evenings and/or holidays. + Must have mental capacity and processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently. + The noise level in the work environment is moderately high. Ear plugs will be available upon request. + Job requires sufficient ambulatory skills in order to perform required duties while working. + Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds. + Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate other equipment as required. + Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. + Hospital teammates are routinely exposed to a variety of animals that may bite, kick or scratch, and on occasion, may be exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological or zoonotic hazards and/or medication/controlled substances.

Additional Information



There is an opportunity to earn extra income with kennel rotations, which are not required for reception but our current team does pitch in. Kennel rotations can be discussed in the interview process, and are typically assigned once every 6-8 weeks.
