Job description
We are currently seeking an exceptional Janitor to join our team. The Janitor plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in all areas of the restaurant. Additionally, they are expected to deliver excellent customer service by being attentive and responsive to guest needs and requests. While their primary responsibility lies in ensuring a clean and hygienic environment, they are also mindful of providing a positive and satisfying dining experience for guests through their friendly and helpful demeanor.
- Perform daily sanitation and deep cleaning of the restaurant, including but not limited to:
- Clean and maintain all windows, mirrors, and light fixtures.
- Clean and maintain floors and walls, tiles, and carpets.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of restroom areas, including restocking of supplies.
- Empty and properly dispose of all trash.
- Polish all brass plates, rails, and hardware.
- Clean and maintain all grill grates, air intakes, and HVAC air vents.
- Clean and maintain all floor mats.
- Empty trash and clean and maintain trash cans.
- Work with the management team to address maintenance needs inside and outside of the restaurant.
- Properly handle cleaning chemicals following all safety guidelines and procedures. This includes safe use, storage, and disposal of chemicals. Alert management when cleaning supplies need to be reordered.
- Adhere to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and laws including health and safety standards
- The desire and ability to be pleasant, upbeat, and sociable throughout the workday.
- Ability to work part-time or full-time, with varying days, nights, holidays, and weekends.
- Proven working experience as a janitor is a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies is a plus, but not required.
- Integrity and ability to work independently.
- Promote the culture, values, and mission of Restaurant K.
Physical Requirements:
- Be able to reach, bend, and frequently lift 30 pounds.
- Must have the stamina to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Must be able to stand for periods of up to eight (8) hours.
- Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds at a time. Required to use assistance when available i.e. hand trucks, ramps, or another team member.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
