Job Summary:
Under the immediate direction of the Supervisor, Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, administers various activities in the acute and chronic settings, including cardiac rehabilitation , pulmonary rehabilitation, diabetes, weight management, transplant, stress testing, and other programs. Serves as a clinical resource to physicians, hospital staff and the community. Plans, organizes, and coordinates various activities and as a mentor to department staff as requested under the direction of the supervisor.
Minimal Acceptable Job Qualifications : Education : Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology or related field.
Registration/Certification : CPR and ACLS required within 90 days of date in position.
Job Knowledge & Skills :
- Requires knowledge of cardiovascular and pulmonary systems related to exercise physiology and the rehabilitation of cardiopulmonary and other chronic diseased patients.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient (infant, adolescent, adult or aged) to support a multidisciplinary plan of care.
- Demonstrates analytical and organizational skills necessary to administer an exercise program developed by the supervisor, monitor participant's response and follow up appropriately.
- Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, in order to establish and maintain positive therapeutic/working relationships with all internal and external unit customers, as needed.
- Exhibits group cohesion, and communication skills promoting teamwork and group achievement.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of the English language, verbal and written.
