The purpose of this position is to maintain, service, monitor, and coordinate repairs to ice and ice related equipment Ice at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center and Community Ice Rink. This is accomplished by building and painting ice, performing routine maintenance and diagnostic testing on equipment, and maintaining records. Other duties may include functioning as manager on duty for the Allen Community Ice Rink. This position provides direction to other employees.
Essential Functions:

- Provides various forms of customer service by providing a safe and welcoming environment, greeting customers, answering questions, responding to concerns, answering and directing incoming calls, processing memberships and registrations, including inputting information into computer system and by distributing equipment to members and guests.
- Provides various forms of administrative service by monitoring equipment safety, inspecting facility for safety and cleanliness, supervising patrons, providing first aid as needed, assisting in membership and class sales, processing of electronic funds and payments, conducting orientations, scheduling of facility space, maintaining records, providing documentation for budget preparation and monitoring.
- Maintains, services, and coordinates repairs relating to ice maintenance by building and painting ice, performing preventative maintenances and diagnostic testing on equipment, supervising and participating in ice conversion, and coordinating and monitoring third party ice vendors.
- Coordinates and monitors ice operations by assisting with ice related conversions, building and painting ice, ensuring quality and proper temperature of ice, coordinating with vendors and clients, creating build timelines and obtaining proper equipment and supplies.
- Monitors and maintains inventory and equipment by performing preventative maintenance, conducting equipment testing, conducting diagnostic checks, coordinating equipment repair, and recommending equipment replacement.
- Monitors and coordinates activities for ice operations during events by coordinating third party vendor assistance, scheduling internal staff, and creating and maintaining ice schedules.
- Participates in weekly facility staff meetings and client meetings by providing information regarding ice conditions and conversion needs based on AEC events.
- Provides various forms of administrative service by creating and maintaining documents and records, drafting checklists, auditing third party invoices for accuracy, and providing documentation for budget preparation and monitoring.
- Provides direction to other employees by serving as Manager on Duty as assigned, trains and assists with staff training and contributes to employee performance appraisals as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education & Experience
Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
- Six (6) months of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency plus four (4) years of relevant experience.
Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Certifications and Other Requirements
- Valid Class C Drivers License
- Ice Operations related certification through STAR's CIT program, ISI Arena Operator, or equivalent; or ability to obtain within nine (9) months of employment.
Overall Physical Strength Demands
- Medium - Exerting 20-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
