Environmental Specialist
Kelly Science has a great direct hire opportunity to join one of our growing clients as an Environmental Specialist in Augusta GA. This role will be responsible for ensuring all corporate and regulatory requirements are being met for air quality, waste management, and wastewater.
Shift: Monday- Friday 8am-5pm
Location: Augusta GA
Salary: $80,000-$100,000/year DOE
Responsibilities:
Work closely with regulatory representatives to develop required reports, permits, and procedures to maintain compliance
Responsible for classifying and disposing of all hazardous/non-hazardous waste and special waste
Provides training for all environmental requirements and monitors day-to-day plant operations to ensure compliance
Organizes and conducts emergency spill cleanup activities when necessary
Responsible for Leak Detection and Repair Program
Assist plant management with community relations by participating in Community Advisory Panel and Local Emergency Planning Committee
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Occupational Health and Safety
Minimum 5 years environmental experience is required (preference in chemical operations)
Operational experience and/or knowledge of polymer operations is desirable.
Working knowledge of ISO 14001 requirements and American Chemistry Council Responsible Care system
Proficient user of computer applications, e-mail and data bases
Familiarity with federal and state environmental regulations, primarily for the state of Georgia
Familiarity with SARA reporting and regulations
