Job description
Job Title: Plant Controller
Job Summary:
Our client a leading packaging manufacturer is looking for a Plant Controller who will be responsible for managing financial operations at one of their manufacturing plants. The ideal candidate will have previous controllership experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong background in cost accounting. As a Plant Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial data and ensuring that financial goals are met.
Responsibilities:
• Manage all financial operations of the plant, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
• Provide financial analysis and support to the plant management team to help them make informed decisions
• Manage the plant’s cost accounting system, ensuring that inventory and cost of goods sold are accurately tracked and reported
• Work closely with the corporate finance team to ensure that the plant’s financial results are reported accurately and in a timely manner
• Identify areas of financial risk and develop plans to mitigate them
• Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations
• Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and other stakeholders
• Manage a team of financial analysts and accounting professionals
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• CPA or CMA certification preferred
• 3+ years of experience in a controllership role in a manufacturing environment
• Strong background in cost accounting and financial analysis
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
