Amazon’s Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband network connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
The Project Kuiper team is looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager with experience in
satellite hardware. The role will interface with cross-functional engineering, program/product
management and commodity sourcing teams to develop and manage all Mechanical and Electrical Satellite Hardware supply stream for Kuiper production system. The Hardware Sourcing TPM will help define and develop the interfaces, manage requirements, and organize technical efforts for the constellation development. Tackle challenging, novel situations every day and given the size of this initiative, you’ll have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams across Amazon.
You should be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity that’s higher than most projects and relish the idea of solving problems that haven’t been solved at scale before! We’ll need to tackle problems that span a variety of domains: software, hardware, complex components, real-time and distributed systems as well as industrial automation. Export Control Requirement:

Key job responsibilities
• Develop and manage detailed schedules and project plans.
• Develop program and team processes and tools as required.
• Develop performance to plan and get to green plans for each complex Assembly
• Communicate overall health of the hardware satellite ship set to stakeholder leadership
• Collaborate with LRU TPMs and commodity sourcing leaders to create project plans for
externally sourced space hardware through the entire development life cycle – requirements to
development to validation in an agile environment.
• Drive Hardware schedule execution, make technical trade-offs in collaboration with engineering, track and report on status, and resolve blocking issues.
• Collaborate with architecture, hardware, software, and manufacturing teams on ensuring cross-functional deliverables are identified and tracked.
• Act as the point of contact for Kuiper Hardware Commodity Sourcing team for hardware teams and work with external teams to identify and mitigate programmatic risks in meeting shared goals.
• Communicate clearly and effectively to executive management on the plans, status, and critical issues. Escalate urgent issues appropriately and drive them to closure in a timely manner.
• Organize regular project and team meetings, focusing the Hardware Sourcing Team's milestones and unblock technical issues by pulling together the multi-functional technical expertise to resolve the issues.
• Participate in technical discussions, ask probing questions, and work with the team to pull together scoping, schedules, and solutions to issues.
• Demonstrate leadership and be adept at navigating through tough situations, juggling various priorities and managing constraints.
• Be competent in a variety of project management tools, methodologies and techniques for all phases of the project life-cycle (e.g. critical path management, schedule development, risk identification and mitigation) and exhibit demonstrated proficiency in core technical project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting and metric development/tracking.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
