Job description
Assists in general ledger maintenance and reconciliation, daily cash reporting, month-and year-end closing of accounting records, and other key finance functions. This position identifies and prevents discrepancies and helps set up control systems.
Hiring Range: $22 - $25 hourly based on experience

● Participate in all month-end and year-end closing processes, applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to financial recordkeeping, including performing monthly reconciliations.
● Maintain adequate and effective internal controls in performing all areas of responsibility.
● Perform daily deposits including communication of funds received to team and appropriate journal entries.
● Assist with third party billing to include, Corporate, Governmental and off-site billing.
● Assist with system maintenance, sales and quality control for corporate, governmental and off-site billing partners.
● Work closely with other departments to respond to questions and confirm accuracy of transactions processed in all systems.

● Assist in annual audit preparation.
● Participate in a wide variety of projects including but not limited to assisting with 1099 preparation, and assisting with escheating old outstanding payroll and accounts payable checks.
● Participate and attend special events and fundraising activities in support of the organization.
● Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
● Two years accounting experience employing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including progressively responsible experience.
● Able to analyze, organize, summarize and articulate complex financial information.
● Attention to detail; accuracy and consistency required.
● Excellent interpersonal skills.
● Ability to make independent and sound decisions in a rapidly changing environment.
● Able to exercise high levels of discretion and confidentiality.
● Exceptional computer skills with the ability to adapt to new software, i.e., Microsoft Office, accounting and financial reporting tools.
● Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions.
● Excellent oral and written communication skills.
