Starting Hourly Pay Rate: $14.00 - $18.00 - Based on experience

SafeSplash® Swim School in Arlington and Grand Prairie, TX is hiring superstar SWIM INSTRUCTORS! We are looking for exceptional individuals to join our close, tight-knit team. You must be a competent swimmer, PASSIONATE about working with the public, especially CHILDREN in the arena of SWIMMING.

As a Swim Instructor, you are responsible for teaching life-saving swimming skills to students in accordance with SafeSplash® curriculum in a fun, positive manner exhibiting safety as the upmost importance.

In this role, you will evaluate each student's performance during swim sessions, provide feedback, complete attendance, progress, accident reports, and ensure that all swimming aids and equipment are in good working order. You should also be able to assist students with special needs to socialize with other students.

To be successful as a swim instructor, you should demonstrate patience and enthusiasm and be able to motivate students to accomplish their swimming goals, and establish and maintain a great partnership with parents. Ultimately, an exceptional swim instructor should be able to communicate effectively with students and customers to ensure that all water safety rules are adhered to.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teach swimming skills in accordance with SafeSplash® curriculum and stay current on any changes.
• Planning swimming lessons that take into account students' abilities and progressive development.
• Maintain proper equipment set up and take down.
• Time organization to ensure timely class start and end times.
• Structure class time appropriately to incorporate repetition, reinforcement, and introduction of required skills.
• Provide continuous, positive corrective feedback to students and customers on their swimming efforts.
• Create lasting relationships with students and partner with parents to solicit feedback on areas of focus for their child.
• Identifying incorrect swimming techniques and correcting students accordingly.
• Ensure swimmer safety by monitoring students and pool deck area to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Complete skill tracking updates on a weekly basis in the iClassPro system.
• Provide customers with individualized feedback on swimmer's progress after each swimming lesson.
• Maintain proper SafeSplash® uniform standards outlined in the employee handbook and communicated by your manager.
• Attend required continuous training efforts for performance improvement or update curriculum requirements.

Key Requirements:

• Demonstrate exceptional attendance and reliability.
• Report time worked accurately and on time by clocking into system and on-site log.
• Excellent conflict resolution skills.
• Adhere to all safety policy requirements.
• Effective communication skills.
• Previous swim instruction experience is preferred.
• Strong swimming abilities; must be able to demonstrate swimming strokes.
• Passionate about working with the public, especially children in the arena of swimming.
• A minimum of 1 year working or volunteering with children (teaching) preferred.
• Trainable, creative, and willing to follow directions.
• Available to work flexible hours with a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends.
• Must be comfortable interacting with children, teens, adults, including those with special needs.
• Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds in weight.
• CPR, First Aid, and American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor or Basic Swim Instructor (BSI) certifications

Wednesdays: 3:45 PM-8:15 PM

Saturdays: 10 AM - 2:00 PM

Mondays/Wednesdays & Saturdays: Kirby Creek Natatorium: 3201 Corn Valley Rd. - Grand Prairie, TX 75052

Working Hours at Kirby Creek Natatorium:

Mondays: 4:00 PM to 7:45 PM

Wednesdays: 4:00 PM to 7:45 PM

Saturdays: 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM

Tuesdays & Thursdays: The Epic: 2960 Epic Place - Grand Prairie, TX 75052

Working Hours at The Epic:

Tues & Thurs AM classes: 9:30 AM to 12:15 PM

Tues & Thurs PM classes: 4:00 PM to 8:45 PM

Fridays & Saturdays: LA Fitness: 5331 W Sublett Rd - Arlington, TX 76017

Working Hours at LA Fitness:

Fridays: 3:30 PM to 7:35 PM

Saturdays: 9:30 AM to 2:20 PM

Job Condition:

• Constant movement in water
• Standing and walking for an extended period of time in water
• Constantly speaking to students of all ages
• Setting up and breaking down pool equipment before and after lessons
• Some light deck cleaning duties
