About Cubex :
Cubex and Zimbis are two companies under the same parent company (Cubex). Cubex manufactures cutting-edge inventory management solutions for the veterinary market, and Zimbis does the same for dental markets. Our mission is to enhance the efficiency, profitability and safety of these industries by automating the storage, dispensing, charge capture and replenishment of medications, surgical implants and other critical inventory, and also providing robust physical security for these items. This requires both hardware and software. As a market leader, we are committed to delivering excellence in every aspect of our business, especially as it relates to our brand identity, and how it is perceived both internally and externally..
Position Overview:
Cubex is seeking a skilled & creative Lead Graphic Designer to join our growing team. We are looking for someone willing and able to be physically in our office in Newport Beach three to four days per week. As the Lead Graphic Designer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual identity of Cubex, ensuring that our design elements align with our brand image and resonate with our target audiences within both the veterinary and dental markets. We need someone who is not afraid to ask questions and has a proactive mindset.
Responsibilities:
1. Brand Development:
- Lead the conceptualization and development of Cubex and Zimbis’ visual brand identity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure brand consistency across various platforms and products.
2.
Graphic Design: - Create visually compelling and innovative designs for a range of marketing materials, including but not limited to brochures for both print and digital, deck presentations, website design, advertisements for both print and digital, email templates and trade shows (banners, booth backdrop and table designs), and company merch designs (hats, hoodies, t-shirts, drink ware).
- Design eye-catching graphics for digital and print media, maintaining a cohesive and professional look.
- Prep for animation. Many of the designs will eventually lead to both 3D animations and After Effects motion graphics done by another team. It will be required to have a basic knowledge of how to prepare graphics to be sent off with assets for 3rd party animators.
3.
Team Leadership: - Be ready to supervise, mentor, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative and creative work environment. As a fast growing company, we anticipate growing the design team in the near future.
- Learn quickly. Both Cubex and Zimbis are are in highly specialized fields that will take time to fully understand. As such, this position will require a curious mind, willing to take bold risks and ask difficult questions.
- Guide brainstorming sessions to generate fresh and innovative design ideas.
4.
Project Management: - Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality output.
- Collaborate with marketing, product development, and sales teams to understand project requirements and objectives.

- Act without asking. With a dynamic multi channel company, we are looking for an individual who is very proactive, always thinking of their own ways to add value, and empowered to make executive decisions to speed up processes.
5.
Market Research: - Stay current on design trends not just within the veterinary and dental industries, but to have a tap on the taste makers, innovators and designers of the most current companies.
- Geek out. We pride ourselves on creating edgier design concepts outside of the clinical “medical” field. Having a knowledge and appreciation of companies like Tesla, Apple, LVMH etc is important. To be put bluntly - we want someone who is a big design nerd and applies their knowledge to our niche.
Qualifications: - Complete and advanced understanding of all the computer programs listed below:
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe InDesign
- Keynote and/or PowerPoint

- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred, but not required.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Being able to respond quickly to messages is a must, as things can change quite quickly. Be able to proactively communicate if you’re stuck, have questions or require more information to complete a project.
