Description
POSITION SUMMARY: Instructs water exercise classes in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member
wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes, as directed by the Group Exercise Coordinator, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.
- Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.
- Keeps accurate class attendance records.
- Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.
Requirements
- Must be a minimum of 16yrs of age, 18 for senior classes
- CPR, First Aid, and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) certification
- I strongly recommend the YMCA Water Fitness Instructor and YMCA Aquatic Safety Assistant or equivalent.
- Must demonstrate the ability to put together a water fitness program.
- At least one year of experience teaching water fitness classes preferred.
