Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The OB/GYN Physician is primarily responsible for providing comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological health care services through the identification, management and/or referral of the health problems and maintenance of women’s health by means of obstetrical care, gynecological care, preventive care, and health promotion. Will perform assignments which can vary from routine to exceptional in nature and are carried out with minimal guidance in accordance with clinic office practices and procedures. Will comply with organization and department policies.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES 

Health Care Delivery 

  1. Accessible and available OB/GYN medical and surgical services to patients for which the Provider is credentialed and privileged 

  1. Minimum surgical expectations include: 

  1. OB patients 

  1. Cesarean sections 

  1. Cesarean hysterectomy 

  1. Suction Dilation and Curettage for spontaneous/missed abortions and retained product of conceptions 

  1. Cervical cerclage (option) 

  1. External version (option)? 

  1. GYN patients 

  1. Laparoscopic tubal ligation 

  1. Laparoscopic treatment of ectopic pregnancy 

  1. Hysteroscopy with D&C 

  1. Total abdominal hysterectomy 

  1. Vaginal hysterectomy (option) 

  1. Suction Dilation and Curettage for heavy emergency bleeding 

  1. Colposcopy? 

  1. Contraceptive insertion (e.g., IUD, Nexplanon) 

  1. LAVH (option) 

  1. Laparoscopic hysterectomy (option) 

  1. Anterior and posterior repair (option) 

  1. Vaginal sling (option) 

  1. Endometrial ablation, any methods (option) 

  1. Education of and effective communication with those served concerning the diagnosis and treatment of their medical conditions, appropriate preventive measures, and use of the health care system 

  1. Treatment that is consistent with clinical impressions and working diagnoses 

  1. Appropriate, accurate and complete paper/electronic medical record entries, in a timely manner 

  1. Adequate and appropriate transfer of information for continuity of care 

  1. Evaluate patients in a timely, courteous, and professional manner 

  1. Complete all required documentation for billing of services provided

Maintain active full staff privileges in the hospitals where credentialed
