As our Controller, you will be responsible for directing the financial operations and overseeing the day-to-day operations of all financial and reporting functions. In your role you will also direct the financial operations of the Finance department ensuring that the necessary internal controls are in place reviewing financial statements before they are released publicly, and making sure that all accounting procedures are being followed correctly. These controls include segregation of duties; restrictions on approvals for contracts, purchasing, and authorization for payroll changes; restrictions on access to assets and confidential information; review of financial information by the President/CEO and the Board of Trustees; assuring cooperation with external audits; and compliance with regulatory agencies that have a financial and/or legal implication. You will assure that financial transactions are appropriately recorded, and reports are prepared to provide accurate and timely descriptions of the Bayview financial position, projections, and trends. Some of your specific duties and responsibilities include: FINANCIAL OPERATIONS: oversees processes for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll; oversees cash flow and financial instruments; establishes credit rating criteria, determines credit ceilings, and monitors Bayview’s extension of credit; analyzes investments; manages debt; raises capital; maintains credible relationship with bank(s) for line(s) of credit, savings account(s), checking account(s), and monitoring compliance with debt covenant. COMPLIANCE: is responsible for financial compliance with local, state and federal regulations including the submission of reports, such as the payroll tax returns, and corporate income tax return form 990. BUDGET: establishes with the President/CEO the procedures for budgeting; finalizes individual department budgets based on historic information and in-put from managers; prepares consolidated operating and capital budgets; provides actual versus budget analyses; works with managers on status and availability of funds in different budgetary accounts. REPORTS: prepares, analyzes and verifies financial statements (i.e., income statements, balance sheets, cash flow analyses, depreciation schedules, and special reports); provides forecasts of financial performance for the year if material deviations from the existing budget are determined. AUDIT: responsible for assuring that a financial audit is performed annually by an external auditor and that staff cooperate with the audit process.
