Job description
UPMC is seeking a dedicated and skilled Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our team in Erie, Pennsylvania. Responsibilities:
- Perform cardiothoracic surgeries on patients, including bypass, valve repair/replacement, and other complex procedures
- Provide pre-operative consultations and post-operative care to patients
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in cardiothoracic surgery and contribute to research initiatives
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Adhere to established protocols, standards, and guidelines for patient care
Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution
- Board certified or board eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Valid medical license to practice in Pennsylvania or willingness to obtain
- Excellent surgical skills and ability to perform complex cardiac and thoracic surgeries
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team and collaborate with other healthcare professionals
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care
- Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Willingness to stay current with advancements in the field of cardiothoracic surgery
