Position Definition:
The Game Manager provides game day set-up for high school sporting events. They are the first point of contact for the visiting team and coaches and officials.
Qualifications:
Current First Aid and CPR card, or ability to obtain prior to the established start date
Excellent customer service skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience which demonstrates strong organizational skills
Ability to work cooperatively with students and parents who are culturally, racially, and linguistically diverse
Essential Functions:
Supply user group with communication devices for ongoing communication
Set up ticket seller station (table, chairs, radios, ticket box)
Work with custodians to ensure proper set-up for each event including score clock, chairs, lights, etc.
Sweep floor between each level of games
Meet and greet officials, visiting team, and coach and escort them to the locker room
Ensure officials have water and access to the locker room
Collect pay vouchers for officials and return to the Business Office
Access the training room for ice in the event of an injury
Contact an administrator immediately in the event of an emergency
Verify emergency protocols are followed in an emergency situation
Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms and work cooperatively in an effective and positive manner with diverse parties to include staff, students, parents, and community
Work successfully as a team player and follow the Head Coach/Athletic Director’s program direction
Treat co-workers, supervisors, students, parents and others with dignity and respect at all times
Serve as a positive role model for students, and practice the behaviors that are expected of our students
Work in a flexible and cooperative manner
Regular attendance to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position to achieve program requirements
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Working Conditions:
Work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to lift and move moderately sized objects up 50 pounds
Such alternative to the above requirements and desirable qualifications may be made as the District finds appropriate and acceptable. It is understood that the district has the right to transfer and assign employees to best fit the needs of the district. Athletic Support employees appointed a position in any given school year may be re-appointed to the same position for the subsequent school year without further posting.
