Job description
Grace is accepting applications for an elementary teaching position that would begin in August 2024.
Responsibilities of an Elementary Teacher at Grace:
- Manages a group of approximately 15 students, supporting their academic and social/emotional growth
- Teaches math, reading, language arts, and social studies
- Leads student-centered pedagogy, including Project-Based Learning, Project Zero thinking routines, and the Reggio-Emilia approach
- Communicates with parents often
- Works collaboratively with administrators and specialists to support the social and emotional needs of students
- Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred)
- Teaching experience with elementary students
- Interest in working collaboratively as a member of a team in a diverse school community
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to use time wisely
Preferred Candidates Will Have:
- Experience with Writing Workshop, Math in Focus, and Responsive Classroom
- A passion for creating an inclusive, loving, and productive classroom community
- An open-hearted view of children as growing and changing
