Job description
Job Title: Server
Main Funtion: Serve Resident Meals
Reports To: Dining Room Manager
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for dining area set ups and clearing tables
- Explains menu items available to residents with knowledge of food preparation and ingredients.
- Takes meal and beverage orders from residents.
- Serves meals and beverages to residents according to established rules of etiquette in a formal setting.
- Checks regularly with residents throughout meal to inquire as to additional needs; replenish beverages etc.
- Upon completion of meal; will offer dessert items; coffee, tea, etc.
- Ensure accurate accounting practices when posting charges to resident accounts utilizing P.O.S. system.
- Will perform other duties as assigned.
Education: High School Students permitted, otherwise High School Diploma/GED preferred
Contacts: Contact with residents, families and guests. Contact with staff members from all departments.
Working Conditions: Modern kitchen, dining area and equipment.
Physical Demands: Walks/stands through entire shift.
Job Hazards: Normal kitchen hazards such as wet floors, cuts, burns, lifts trays.
Safety: Will follow safe work practices in accordance with housing complex health and safety policies.
