Salary Range: 63,400 – 100K
Summary/Objective The Triple Hatter encompasses the responsibilities of a Superintendent, Quality Control Manager (QCM), and Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO). This position plays a pivotal role in overseeing construction projects, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.

Superintendent Duties Essential Functions:
- Work collaboratively with assigned Projector Manager on all facets of the project from pre-construction meetings to post project documentation.
- Perform all project start-up and close out activities as described in the Procedures Manual.
- Responsible for Project Site Utilization Plan and documentation as required per specifications and on-site existing condition.
- Responsible for scheduling, sequencing, and phasing of construction activities.
- Responsible for ordering and scheduling delivery and pick up of any equipment and/or material required by General Contractor.
- Perform the required project line and grade layout responsibilities.
- Thoroughly understand, organize, and maintain all project contract documents on a regular basis.
- Prepare and distribute the all field related project administrative documents.
- Implement and enforce all required SYNCON on-site Quality Control procedures.
- Must Display the utmost of personal integrity and have the ability to work effectively in a team environment and to contribute significantly to extending a culture of collaboration, both internally and externally, in order to maintain the superior reputation of Syncon, LLC.
- Responsible as project SSHO, implement, and enforce all required SYNCON on-site Safety procedures. Hold weekly Safety “Toolbox Talk“ meetings with staff and subcontractors.
- Assist other Superintendents as required.
Site Safety Health Officer (SSHO) Duties Essential Functions:
- Perform quality and safety inspections to comply with contract and regulatory requirements.
- Provide site compliance through daily site inspections and daily safety reports.
- Development and/or review of APP, AHA’s, crane and rigging plans.
- Coordination of safety issues with the Quality Control Manager and site Superintendent of new definable features of work.
- Provide management and oversight of site-specific safety activities.
- Prioritization of daily tasks to maintain safety compliance and project schedule.
- Ensure that the sub-contractor's comply with all local, state, and federal safety and health requirements.
- Conduct safety training for all employees at the weekly toolbox talks, including 1st day site safety orientations.
- Maintain the OSHA 300 form.
- Maintain a safety and health deficiency tracking system that monitors outstanding deficiencies until resolution.
- Maintain current SDS list of hazardous chemicals on site.
- Prepare monthly contractor safety self-evaluation checklist
Quality Control Manager Duties Essential Functions:
- Perform a complete study and review of all Contract Documents in order to have working knowledge of the plans and specifications.
- Create, update, and maintain the project submittal log and all other project specific quality control reports.
- Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications by direct review and by leveraging the knowledge and experience of others in the project team or trade specialists when necessary.
- Chair and document QC meetings with the Government and Project Stake Holders, and provide written minutes as described in project specific contract documents.
- Provide written daily QC reports that document activities that are being constructed in conformance with each specific project's established standard and constructively confront non-conformances to produce the desired outcome in a timely manner.
- Identify, create, submit and follow-up on Requests for Information for issues that require resolution for construction.
- Conduct preparatory, initial and follow-up meetings and inspections to establish an understanding of the standards of care desired for each definable feature of work. Verify that checklists are being used and signed off prior to the placement of concrete, steel, and other similar items of work.
- Verify and document that all materials received for the project are in conformance with the approved submittal, are handled and stored appropriately and are acceptable for use in the project.
- Establish, implement, and maintain the Three Phases of Control, Preparatory, Initial and Follow Up for project.
- Conduct preconstruction (Preparatory) meetings with new and existing subcontractors and the superintendent at least two days prior to the start of each new phase of the work to discuss issues that affect quality. Document these meetings in the daily QC report and Preparatory Phase reports.
- Conduct Initial inspections to verify that initial installation of work is in accordance with the contract documents and approved submittals.
- Conduct periodic follow-up inspections to verify that work is proceeding with the contract documents and the approved submittals. (Desired results come from what is inspected, not what is expected.)
- Coordinate and document the testing and commissioning of building systems.
- Document and distribute pre-punch lists, punch lists and the completion of these lists.
- Verify work in place, percentages complete for work activities for monthly billing purposes.
- Schedule required testing activities, specialty testing (by others), witness and document testing activities on the testing log and daily QC Reports.
- Have non-conforming work corrected and re-inspected / re-tested prior to covering up work.
- Document final inspections, certificates of occupancy and acceptance of the works and various phases thereof
- Maintain the project "as-built" drawings on a daily basis.
- Assemble and forward project closeout documents that include O&M manuals, as-builts and warranties.
- Stop work if necessary to resolve matters that affect safety, quality and/or inhibit the logical progress of work.

Supervisory Responsibility Does not directly supervise Syncon employees; however, this position regularly oversees subcontractors assigned to project.
Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, dirt, heat, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Hours and days vary depending on project.
Travel Travel is required to sites.
Required Education and Experience - High School Diploma or equivalent
- 4 or more years of experience as a Superintendent,QC, SSHO
- Hold a current USACOE CQM Certification.
Preferred Education and Experience - 5+ years’ experience as a CQCM and implementing construction quality control programs for large scale government construction projects.
- 5 year construction industry Safety experience on government projects or managing safety programs.
- 5 or more years of experience as a Superintendent
- Must have a proven track record of meeting production, quality, and customer service standards in a fast-pace construction environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
- Proficient in Procore
Training Currently be certified or obtain certification within 30 days of employment and maintain current certifications related to this position.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications None required for this position.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance Position requires employee to be able to obtain a rapid gate pass or security clearance as required for the job.
