The position primarily involves full-time neuropsychological assessment from the office in Mount Laurel, with travel to additional sites depending on clinical needs. Referral sources primarily include outpatient neurology clinics and other physicians, as well as assessment of individuals who reside within Bancroft’s programs. The neuropsychologist provides supervision and mentorship to postdoctoral fellows/interns/students, as assigned. Other tasks may include engaging in/managing research projects, managing neuropsychological testing equipment, and lecturing in seminars, webinars, and community outreach. The applicant must be board certified eligible with the goal of achieving board certification in approximately 5 years for early-to-mid-career neuropsychologists. The applicant must be licensed as a clinical psychologist in the state of New Jersey, and all levels of experience are encouraged to apply.
Conducts diagnostic assessments with treatment recommendations for outpatients, as well as persons served in the residential/day program.
Provides coverage for treating rehabilitation psychologists or psychotherapy clients as needed, as well as possible supervisory coverage for trainees who are providing psychotherapy services
Utilizes a system of documentation and billing practices that are professional, efficient, accountable, and conforms to federal and state regulations, as well as Bancroft policies and procedures, develops and maintains progress reports as needed, session note, treatment summaries, etc.
Provides direct psychological therapy, treatment services, and intervention if needed and based on the skills/experience of the employee, including individual and group psychotherapy and cognitive rehabilitation.
Provides crisis intervention, as needed, through counseling, de-escalation techniques, staff support, and assistance.
Serves as a member of Bancroft’s various committees, contributing to staff and trainee learning, learning in the community (via webinars, talks, etc.), and provides professional development training to internal and external stakeholders on neuropsychological topics, as well as representing Bancroft at professional conferences/events, as assigned.
Follows state-approved emergency procedures and utilizes Bancroft-approved crisis intervention techniques at all times.
Works directly with assigned practicum students, interns, and/or postdoctoral fellows throughout the course of assignment in the assessment of outpatients and persons served. Provides daily advice and guidance to students, interns, and/or fellows and strives to increase their knowledge of discipline-specific methods and techniques.
Participates in clinical research projects at Bancroft and/or by partnering with external stakeholders (e.g., academic institutions, rehabilitation providers, research collaboratives), as approved by departmental leadership and based on program priorities.
Maintains an awareness of current and changing trends, techniques, methods, and research in the field of neuropsychology and psychological therapy and treatments by attending learning workshops and professional seminars, reading journals, attending in-service workshops, external conferences in areas of specialty/clinical discipline, etc. Maintains license and completes required number of continuing education credits.
Conducts oneself in a manner of professionalism, confidentiality, courtesy, honesty, fairness, personal integrity, and a respect for the fundamental rights, dignity, and privacy of others.
Performs other direct service, consultative, assessment, and supportive duties specific to neuropsychology assessment, research, training, and possibly psychotherapy as assigned or as necessary. Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by rehabilitation needs.
Education & Experience:
Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology required with current licensure by the State of New Jersey. Must be board certification eligible through the American Board of Professional Psychology for clinical neuropsychology. Board certification in clinical neuropsychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology encouraged/preferred. Early-to-mid career neuropsychologists expected to be board certified within approximately 5 years from date of hire.
