Rapid City Medical Center has full-time Registered Nurse position available in Infusion. Responsible for providing professional nursing care to clinic patients under supervision of attending physicians.
Current nursing license required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assesses patient's general condition and takes vital signs.
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments as ordered.
- Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines and confidentiality policies.
- Document visit in each patient's medical record.
- Monitor patient during infusion.
- Consult in house physician as needed.
- Perform prior authorizations as necessary and ensure patient's insurance is verified before infusion.
- Schedule appointments for patients and contact ordering physician if patient does not get infusions as instructed.
- Maintain policies and protocols for the Infusion Clinic.
- Keep a stock of drug and supplies as needed.
- Provide coverage to The Endoscopy Center for accessing indwelling port catheters for IV access as needed.
- Maintain inventory records of all drugs.
- Check voice mail frequently and return all calls by the end of the day.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of basic nursing principles and protocols.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety and patient confidentiality.
- Knowledge of medical chart reporting/records.
- Knowledge of infusion pumps.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Combination of office and exam offices. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, medicinal preparations. Hepatitis B vaccination and TB test required.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Varied activities including sitting, walking, stooping, lifting, bending, reaching. Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and to lift 100 pounds. Occasional stress from workload. Must be able to use a variety of office equipment including phone, copier, PC, fax and medical equipment including infusion pump and blood pressure cuff.
