Job description
Position Overview: As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the accounting team, overseeing day-to-day financial activities, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. This role requires a strong foundation in accounting, leadership skills, and the ability to drive financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Generate regular financial reports for management review.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with leadership to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
Accounting Operations:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
Internal Controls:
- Implement and monitor internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Identify and address control deficiencies.
Audit Coordination:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors.
- Coordinate the annual audit process and address audit inquiries.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the accounting department.
- Implement best practices to enhance financial operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting management.
- CPA certification is a plus.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
